Buffalo Park
A FAST-ARM spin away from first-class accommodation, restaurants and
recreation facilities, Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium welcomes cricket
lovers to Buffalo Park.
This open-air stadium with a seaview seats a 14 000 capacity crowd,
and is home not only to the Mercedes-Benz Border Bears cricket team,
but to national talent such as Mark Boucher, Makhaya Ntini, Robin
Peterson, Mornantau Hayward & Monde Zondeki
SQUARE
We currently have
seven cricket strips, six of which are use for
first-class/Internationals. The one strip is used for club cricket
only.
OUTFIELD
The outfield
turf is predominately Kikuyu grass.
We currently have a Shelton’s Drainage system in place.
COVERS
MAIN FIELD
We currently
have five covers on the main field. Two are used for the run-ups and
two are used to cover the entire square. We also have a pitch cover,
which is used to cover just the strip on which a match is being
played.
NET COVERS
We currently have two covers at the nets, which each cover,
covers a entire bank of nets.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
TURF NETS
We have four banks of nets, two of which have been recently
built.
We currently have 32
practice strips on turf.
CONCRETE NETS
We have four concrete nets in place
DRAINAGE
There is a
Shelton’s Drainage system in place at the practice facilities
